Charette is in search of an ILA/teaching partner who is looking to become a member of a strong collaborative team that is shaping the future of a new charter school. We are seeking a paraprofessional who shares the background and cultural experiences of diverse urban youth and can contribute in a relevant and meaningful way to our discussions and development of academic support services. Major duties include: -Working as a teaching support staff member alongside a certified classroom teacher in a primary content area - Providing individual organizational or guided academic support to students in need of more 1:1 or small group instruction -Participating in culture building and team building activities within the school and classroom - demonstrating a level of professionalism in communication and collaboration among members of the school community, including students, families and colleagues. - Supporting teachers by participating in instructional opportunities by using appropriate strategies and techniques developed by teachers and other professional staff to support individual student needs. Teaching partners will -Supporting a learning environment that encourages appropriate standards of behavior, positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation by maintaining and monitoring compliance with classroom rules, procedures and behavior standards.
