OUR MISSION

The Charette Community engages Providence youth in the pursuit of academic excellence and the design of a more equitable and sustainable city.

Preparing Students for College, Career and Life

Founded in 2018, Charette Charter High School is a college-preparatory, community-based public charter school committed to educating and empowering Providence students to pursue excellence in their pursuits beyond high school and be able to be a productive member of their city.  At Charette, we hold all students to high academic standards while supporting their individual needs, fostering growth academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our rigorous, student-centered approach and high-quality instructional materials equip learners with the skills and habits they need to succeed in college and beyond, including critical thinking, time management, and learning. Through personalized goal-setting and continuous progress tracking, students gain confidence and agency in their education. Charette is more than a school—Charette’s dedicated staff prepare students to thrive in school, college, career, and life.

Urban Planning & Historic Preservation

Learning by Shaping Our City

Charette was designed with a unique theme of urban planning and historic preservation, inspiring students to explore the city they call home. Through this theme, students engage in real-world projects that connect academics to their community; fostering leadership, problem-solving, and civic engagement.

From analyzing city landscapes to understanding historical contexts, students develop a strong sense of place and responsibility. This approach enriches their education and nurtures both intellectual growth and transferable skills that serve them in any academic or professional setting. At Charette, students learn to think like planners, leaders, and changemakers—preparing them to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
